The boy’s name is Sharifyanov Raul. On the 16th of September he was 3, and on the 17th of September 2008 in Shneider Children’s Clinic (Petach-Tikva, Israel) he was made the diagnosis rhabdomyosarcoma. Now he takes treatments in the oncological branch of the foregoing clinic under the guidance of Professor doctor Jakov Goshin.

It began in Naberezhnye Chelny where on the 16th of August 2008 the first symptoms of urination holding appeared. After we had appeared to the local hospital, he was made the diagnosis of cystitis with acute holding of urination. However, on the 26th of August according to the findings of ultrasonic examination it turned out that in the small pelvis near the urinary bladder he had some tumour measuring 17 х 14 millimeters. Afterwards, Raul was delivered to Kazan Children’s Republican Clinical Hospital right to the urology branch where on the 28th of August the apparatus of ultrasonic examination shew the tumour measuring nearly 5 x 4 x 6 centimetres. By that time the tumour had already raised the bladder up to 2 centimetres from the normal level and, as a result, the urine practically didn’t go out along the urethra. And every urination came with great effort to him. There Raul was made the preliminary diagnosis of sarcoma – to be made the exact one we had to make biopsy. In Children’s Republican Clinical Hospital we were suggested taking the course of chemotherapy with a subsequent removal of bladder, prostate and extending the urethra to the rectum, so that urination came from the rectum. And several years later, perhaps, creating the bladder from the part of the rectum.

We found out that the world practice of such illness treatment doesn’t always presuppose surgical interference. More successfully these diseases are treated in Germany and Israel. And on the 4th of September we connected the Clinic in Israel which was able to accept Raul.
By the moment of the definitive diagnosis the tumour was nearly 10 centimeters in the diameter (the data of the computer tomography) and occupied the whole small pelvis. It’s not so difficult to calculate that every 2 weeks it increased twice, by that time he couldn’t urinate himself and did it with the help of a catheter. On the 17th of September they began the course of chemotherapy.

Now we are have first hopeful results. On the 22nd of September according to the findings of ultrasonic examination the tumour reacted to the chemotherapy and decreased nearly by a quarter. So we hope that the preparation was chosen correctly. But this is only the beginning because unfortunately the disappearance of the tumour doesn’t always mean the disappearance of cancerous cells.

The whole course of treatment lasts 25 weeks and is estimated at nearly 100000 US dollars. But the figure is very relative and presupposes treatment without any complications, the one that corresponds to the minutes. It is, of course, rarely so in practice, especially if it is a question of such serious illnesses. The real figure will range from 150000 to 200000 US dollars.

We don’t have such a large sum. All we could collect was spent just on the beginning of the course.
That is why I am appealing to you for help and I am making a request to transfer any sum of money for Raul’s treatment.
